We’re always going to be here for you, even through changing times...

The past 18 monts have been challenging on many levels and the need for a strong and stable Union has never been greater. Which is why the steps we take from here on out will allow us to focus on a truly transformative future. One that puts students in Sheffield first, as we come together to reset and rebuild the Steel City and communities around us.

We’ve spent the past two years examining everything we do, looking at our external environment and talking to you - our members and the reason why we exist. Filling your inboxes and feeds with opportunities to tell us what’s on your mind.

In fact, a record 5138 of you responded, showing us the support and services that matter to Hallam students the most and what we can do to make sure time spend here with us is truly the best that it can be.

From our findings, we have created a Strategic Plan built by YOU, to create a future that is new, bold and vibrant. Where every student gets to shape the road ahead and finds a place within a strong society that supports them.

But we can't achieve this alone and would like to thank you for your support in pushing the boudaries of what is possible.

You are at the heart of Hallam SU and entitled to an exceptional academic experience. Which is why we are working tirelessly to make sure you receive this from not only your SU, but University, too.

And we’re making promises that we want you to measure us against along the way. Enabling us to ensure we are absolute champions for liberation, equality, diversity and a future we all deserve.

Many exciting projects are going to emerge from now until 2025, with our digital transformation already set to switch up the way we offer our services and engage with the city around us. So we can be wherever you are, whenever you need us.

Don't just take our word for it. Radical change IS coming. Find out more about our new Strategic Plan below.

Your Vision. Our Strategy…

We know you love it here in Sheffield - and why wouldn’t you? It’s a diverse and everchanging environment and a great place to study. Which is why over the next four years and beyond, we’ll be developing relationships with even more arts, cultural and sporting organisations across the city. Making it easier to get involved in activities that fulfil your passions.

As a Union, we share the vision that ‘anything is possible’ and now more than ever, it is important that we come together to shift perceptions, champion a safer and more inclusive environment and succeed in the face of adversity.

This has required us to challenge the status quo and make some difficult decisions to push through radical change. But while things may look a little different on the outside, we still have a jam-packed programme of support and activies on offer, driven by students for students and are lucky enough to have a whole host of fabulous vendors close by. Where you can catch up over coffee with friends, find a quiet space to study and immerse yourself in a cultural calendar of events. All you have to do, is decide where to discover first... and we’re here to help.

The neighbouring Showroom Cinema and Site Gallery are both great places to start and there’s plenty of pubs and reasturants close by, like The Green Howst Café and Rutland Arms or try Treehouse Board Game Café for some fun and nibbles. Cutlery WorksKommune and Peddler Market are perfect if you’re feeling indecisive and you will find plenty of craft breweries across the city (with many just a short walk from our campuses).

Try The Beer Engine on London Road, The Fat Cat in Kelham Island or Sheffield Tap inside the train station.

Our partnership with #HallamNation at Crystal every Wednesday evening will also continue from Welcome 2021 and we’re busy working with The Leadmill to host lots of exiting events.
