The Sheffield Hallam Psychology Society is open to all new and returning students, especially those with an interest in the science and philosophy of the human mind. Join us, and you’ll be part of an active and successful academic society; one which has raised money for charities, delivered guest lectures, explored the Peak District, brought a pack of guide dogs to Collegiate Campus, and even won the award for ‘biggest impact’ at the 2017 Societies Ball.
The society is also a great way to meet new people, as we collaborate more regularly with other societies, bring in students from a range of backgrounds and degree subjects, and regularly meet up for friendly socials; drinks, bowling, hiking, clubs, meals, cocktail evenings – it’s up to you! Furthermore, we can provide experience-based guidance on matters such as life at university and what to expect from a degree in psychology, as well as discussing specialist routes such as clinical or educational practice. Trust us, you’ll be thankful for it later.
This year we will also be including academic help sessions relating to your Psychology degree. If you're struggling with statistics, or require advice on formatting your research report, or need a little help with your referencing and citations come along to these sessions! Date, time and location will be published on our Facebook page. We will also inform you via email.
The SHSU Psychology Society had an amazing year in 2017/18, and this year with a fresh committee, new members, new ideas, we are so sure we will stand out at Hallam once again. This year we intend to have even more events, socials, and fundraisers than ever before - as well as amaing collabs.
We hope to see you soon, and wish you all the best in your endevours.
