Feature

Saturday's Varsity boxing event was definitely a night to remember. With one knockout and another close battle, University of Sheffield won with final score being 3 – 1.

Hallam Supporters were out in force, filling out half of the centre with a wash of burgundy and white. The first bout kicked off the night with a strong performance from Ashwin Ma, winning the first round. Ashwin was overwhelmed in the second round with the victory going to Taylor from University of Sheffield.

The second bout, with James Prescott, was one of the most intense of the night. With both boxers giving a steady performance. Each round had the crowd on the edge of their seats and in the end it was a close call, but Nathan Kaushik from University of Sheffield pulled ahead on points. Giving University of Sheffield the lead.

Another great bout came in the form of Charlie Perfitt, who performed incredibly. He won his bout with a knockout in the first round, leaving the audience stunned. His opponent Robert Dixon was out cold for a few minutes but luckily regained consciousness and was checked by health officials.

The night came to its climax with a great effo

rt from Brock Neal-Roberts in the last bout. Defending as best he could for all three rounds. After a good fight from both sides the final scores favoured Yaseen Noorami representing the University of Sheffield. Giving them the win overall. The overall Varsity p
