On Friday former Sheffield Hallam student, Daniel Wilson, launched his Social Enterprise Boxing Science, the world's first website dedicated to sport science in boxing as well as the new Yorhshire Boxing Sport Science Program that he is running in association with England boxing who are part funding him.

Daniel is a recent graduate of the University where he spent 5 years completing his undergraduate study in Sports and Exercise Science followed by a postgraduate degree in the same discipline.

Whilst studying towards his degree, Daniel joined the University's Combat and Conditioning program back in 2012. It was through this that Daniel discovered a niche in the market and decided to apply to the Students' Union Social Enterprise program for funding to set up his Boxing Science business which helps boxers and coaches learn how to improve the performance of boxers. Daniel was successful in securing funding as well as full support from the Students' Union to set up his enterprise.

Daniel's website, Boxing Science, has been a huge success since its launch in 2014. It currently attracts an average of 10,000 views per month. His audience ranges from senior boxes, amateurs to female boxers. Click here for Boxing Science's social objectives.

When asked where he sees the enterprise going, Daniel said:

"For now I am starting with Yorkshire but I intend to expand to other areas in England"

Daniel's story is testament to just how far Sheffield Hallam Students' Union's Social Enterprise can take you. If you have a social enterprise idea, make sure you apply for funding in the first round which begins early in the next academic year.
