As well as recognising impact made by volunteers over the year, there will be awards up for grabs on the night for which you can nominate yourself, a fellow volunteer or a whole project. Nominations are now closed.
Awards up for grabs on the night are:
Community Impact Award
This award will be presented to a volunteer or project that has made a positive impact in the local Sheffield community. This can cover such things as; events or projects that have benefited local residents/community organisations, outstanding sustainability projects or that projects that have benefited schools.
Outstanding Community Partner Award
The award will be presented to a Community Partner that has shown outstanding dedication to working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam Students' Union and to supporting the student experience as a whole. Such a partner will have shown that they are willing to go above and beyond to support student volunteers. This award can be won by an organisation, school or an individual.
Outstanding Contribution to the One-Off programme
This award will be presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the One-Off programme. Nominees will have volunteered on a variety of One-Offs, shown exceptional commitment and have made a positive impact to the Sheffield community.
Student Leader Award
This award will be presented to a student who has been volunteering in a leadership role. Students may have run their own volunteering project as a Project Leader or been a lead at a volunteering event. These students will have been responsible for guiding and inspiring other students as well as being a team player. These students will have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and really made a difference to their project or organisation.
Have you worked with a student whose passion and determination has inspired you this year? Nominees of this award will have inspired other volunteers, staff or participants; whether this is through their dedication throughout the year or their loyalty and passion they have shown towards their role.
Innovation and Creativity Award
This award will recognise an individual or group who have been innovative or creative with the running of their project or event. This will be through either the proposal of a new and exciting project through a Bright Ideas session or simply creative thinking in the face of adversity. Nominees for this award will have worked independently and delivered an original session plan, event or project.
New Project Award
This award can be won by any SHSU Volunteering project that started during the 2018/19 Academic Year. The winner will display how they were succesful in turning their project idea into a reality by developing the project aims and objectives and succesfully achieving them.
