City of Sanctuary, Sheffield aims to build a culture of welcome and hospitality for refugees and asylum seekers within the city. As part of this work we maintain the Asylum Journey website and other information resources which give up to date and accurate details of services and activities for asylum seekers and refugees.


Role includes

  • Mapping  activities and services of use to Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Sheffield;

  • Producing content for the website and  leaflets;

  • Maintaining leaflets and website resources;


You will volunteer as part of a small team under the supervision of City of Sanctuary’s Information Co-ordinator.  This volunteer role would be a good for someone with an interest in Human Rights issues who is looking to develop their research and presentation experience.



  • An interest in issues relating to the asylum system or in Human Rights;

  • An interest in finding out more about activities and services within Sheffield;

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office or equivalent.



You would be based in City of Sanctuary, Chapel Walk, Sheffield 



Volunteer group meetings on Mondays or Fridays, but can be flexible about when you volunteer.



 2 hours a week; 6 months commitment is required, you can take a break in between if needed.
